For some years now, we have considered restoring the Ogden grave (T73E44). It is in very bad shape having partially collapsed. The tile top is very unique with small half inch tiles and it just looked very difficult to repair. Truthfully, it scared us a bit. Sometimes, you just have to take a chance and go for it!

So….we gave it a shot!

First, we carefully removed the larger pieces of broken concrete, trying to maintain as much of the original top as possible. Many of the small tiles came off in this process. We have collected them and will reset them as we proceed with the restoration.

Fill was brought in and a new layer of concrete was poured. Then the larger pieces were placed back onto the grave top.

We have placed and set as much of the original top as we could. Now, after cleaning all the loose tiles, we will attempt to reset them to complete the pattern as best as we can.

As of Aug 7, 2026 one more coat to go.
