Just another monument to fix September 2024

Oppenheimer Project completed July 10, 2024

From time to time we take on restoration projects at cemeteries other than Ross Bay Cemetery. In 2024 we have teamed up with the Jewish community to restore the Oppenheimer grave. The restoration involves straightening the monument, removing, cleaning and resetting the tile work, replacing missing parts of the cast iron fence and then giving the fence a couple of coats of paint. 

Sarah Oppenheimer was the wife of businessman, investor, philanthropist, David Oppenheimer. David was the mayor of Vancouver from 1888-1891. Many of the city services were established during his tenure; the fire department, a ferry across Burrard Inlet, the streetcar system and a water connection from the Capilano River.
